Author: In a good match, Chennai Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians and became the winner of IPL 3. It was the first time in the IPL when any Indian captain lifted the trophy. MS Dhoni did this job. Raina was the hero of the final match who smashed a great knock and took 1 wicket. He also contributed in the fielding that made him Man of the Match. Man of the series award gone to Sachin. He also won the orange cap for being the highest run getter in this tournament. Fair play award gone to MS Dhoni while purple cap to Ojha.

It was the third match of KKR. KKR has been already won their 2 matches and they were in the mood of winning this match. But at the right time MS Dhoni blasted and started their number game journey in the IPL point table. MS Dhoni smashed a total of 66 runs in just 33 balls. He punched 3 sixes and 6 fours. Another higher scorer of the match was S Badrinath who made 43 runs. With these innings Chennai reached at 164/3 in the 20 overs.
The start of KKR was really very bad. They lost early wickets and none of their batsmen was succeeded to punch the ball. Ganguly was out of form and he scored only 11 runs in the 20 balls. Here is the brief summary of this match.
