In a good match, Chennai Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians and became the winner of IPL 3. It was the first time in the IPL when any Indian captain lifted the trophy. MS Dhoni did this job. Raina was the hero of the final match who smashed a great knock and took 1 wicket. He also contributed in the fielding that made him Man of the Match. Man of the series award gone to Sachin. He also won the orange cap for being the highest run getter in this tournament. Fair play award gone to MS Dhoni while purple cap to Ojha.
